Viral Video Clips
Slicksta likes watching the cool video clips his friends send him but gets annoyed when the large files clog his inbox. Plus, there’s always the fear that the HR department will get involved because of those *special* vids he gets from the fellas. Luckily for Slicksta there are several new sites that make sharing videos online a snap.

“Broadcast yourself. Watch and share your videos worldwide!”
Slicksta’s favorite site is YouTube.com which focuses on making it easy to post and share videos. The service supports a user community and allows you to build a personal network of friends. Slicksta couldn’t test this feature because he doesn’t have any friends.

“Before you post your videos anywhere online, get a Revver tag!”
Revver.com’s concept is helping people monetize videos they make by adding advertisements to them. This is an interesting concept but has limited appeal to Slicksta who just wants to see funny clips and not ads. You don’t want to see ads either, right? Well, except for the ones that appear on Slicksta.com - those ads are okay. Some would even say they are cool. C’mon, don’t resist . . . click on one!

Google made a big splash in video syndication with the release of Google Video earlier this year. The focus of this service is to find and display video content that already exists online. Slicksta thinks that the long term plan is to help content providers charge consumers for viewing exclusive videos. Slicksta was disappointed but not surprised by Google’s bareboned approach of offering only two categories, “Popular” and “Random”, in addition to the ubiquitous search box.
